The Brazilian would be an ideal signing for Leeds this summer, bringing youth, creativity and end product to an already vibrant attacking side. His aforementioned numbers in the top-flight last season in a struggling side speak volumes about how productive he could be playing under Bielsa alongside superior players.

While a move doesn’t appear too likely at the moment, Leeds should do all they can to try and bring Pereira to Elland Road, allowing him to dovetail with the likes of Raphinha, Jack Harrison and Patrick Bamford.

Quatro dias após o Corinthians se reunir com os empresários do meia-atacante Willian Pottker e sinalizar uma oferta de R$ 6,7 milhões por 50% dos direitos econômicos, a Ponte Preta se pronunciou sobre a situação de um dos artilheiros do Brasileirão do ano passado e disse que a oferta corintiana foi recusada. Segundo Vanderlei Pereira, presidente da Macaca, a proposta era “exorbitante” para o jogador de 23 anos, mas não interessou ao clube, que detém 100% dos direitos de Pottker e possui contrato até o fim de 2019.

-Pottker só vai sair se a multa for paga. E a multa é de 4 milhões de euros. Eu diria que a proposta não é interessante para o clube. Para o jogador, é muito boa. Conversamos com ele, que é um garoto equilibrado, entendeu, e vai continuar. Economicamente falando ele teria de ir embora, porque a proposta é exorbitante – avisou o presidente da Ponte Preta, que prevê negociações apenas no segundo semestre a respeito de Willian Pottker.

Além de se reabilitar na competição com a goleada sobre o Oeste, no último sábado, o São Paulo parece ter dado um jeito nas finalizações. Isso porque foi a partida mais eficiente do time no Paulistão até aqui. De acordo com o Footstats, em média, os são-paulinos precisaram de menos de quatro chutes para marcar um gol, estatística bem melhor do que nas rodadas anteriores.

Uma diferença básica desse jogo para os demais foi o número de tentos marcados pela equipe: quatro. Foi a primeira vez, em 24 duelos sob o comando de Fernando Diniz, que o Tricolor consegue atingir essa marca. Antes, o placar mais elástico havia sido o 3 a 0 sobre a Chapecoense, fora de casa, no Brasileirão-2019. De resto, no máximo partidas com dois gols.

Essa grande quantidade de bolas na rede ajudou nas estatísticas e finalmente “destravou” o ataque do São Paulo. Foram 15 finalizações, nove delas atingiram o alvo e quatro entraram no gol. Sendo assim, a cada 3,75 chutes, o time comemorou um tento e a cada 2,25 finalizações certas, uma superou o goleiro.

– Já era para a gente ter feito jogos assim no campeonato, pelo tanto de chances que a gente criou, mas hoje (último sábado) saíram os gols. Comparando com os jogos de Fernando DIniz desde o Brasileirão do ano passado, esse duelo com o Oeste foi o segundo mais eficiente, perdendo apenas para o já citado 3 a 0 sobre a Chape. Naquela ocasião, foram 11 finalizações, seis certas e três gols, ou seja, em média, a acada 3,7 chutes, um balançou a rede, e a cada dois chutes certos, um resultou em tento.

O objetivo de Diniz e seus comandados é manter essa eficiência e evitar tantas chances desperdiçadas, como vinha acontecendo rodada após rodada. Para isso, a partir de terça-feira o elenco volta a treinar de olho no duelo diante da Ponte Preta, no próximo domingo, às 16h, no Morumbi, pela oitava rodada da fase de grupos do Paulistão-2020. O Tricolor lidera o Grupo C da competição.
